Educational Philosophy

All students possess the capacity for learning and every student deserves to be in a learning environment that nurtures their individual talents and promotes their academic and social-emotional growth.  Wilson High School is made up of a consortium of talented educators, devoted to teaching and learning and to helping our students tap into their potential for excellence.

Education and Experience

I received my BA in English Literature and my teaching credential from Washington State University.  I began my career as a high school English teacher.  During that time, I also attended California State University, Dominguez Hills, to earn my MA in English Literature/Rhetoric and Composition, and my Administrative Services credential.  After my time at CSUDH, I transitioned from the classroom to administration, working as an assistant principal at a middle school.  I was honored to join the Glen A. Wilson High School staff and to return to my high school roots in 2015.

Hobbies and Interests

When I’m not on the Wilson campus, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog, Lolita.  When opportunity allows, I like to travel abroad with my husband and to visit my family in Washington State.  An avid concert goer, I take advantage of the opportunities to see various bands at the many venues large and small, that Southern California offers.
