Michele Mabrie

Home Grown

My name is Michele Mabrie. My maiden name is Beckles and I am a product of the Hacienda La Puente District (HLPUSD). I attended elementary school thru high school in HLPUSD. Now, I am working for the HLPUSD as a seasoned high school counselor.

My mother moved our family from Los Angeles to La Puente in the mid-sixties. I attended California Elementary School for the 5th and 6th grades. I promoted to Sparks Jr. High which is now called Sparks Middle School. I graduated from La Puente High School.

I received my Bachelors Degree from La Verne College which is now named the University of La Verne and my Masters Degree from UCLA in Social Welfare. Before becoming a School Counselor, I was a Clinical Social Worker working with high risk youths in schools and in the community of Compton. I then worked in the Pomona and Rowland Unified School Districts before becoming a high school counselor at Glen A Wilson High School.

I am proud and excited about being a WILDCAT!!   I enjoy working with our students and helping them progress toward graduation and assisting with their post-secondary planning and future endeavors. GO WILDCATS!!
