Additional Opportunities for Demonstrated Interest!

While not all colleges and universities make it on to the Wilson campus, many are hosting events in Southern California.  Attending events is just one way you can show "demonstrated interest".  (What does that mean? Demonstrated interest is one of the admissions criteria used by many competitive colleges.  The term refers to ways that an applicant shows he or she is serious about enrolling at a given college. An applicant who calls with questions about a particular program is more valued than one who doesn't communicate beyond applying. An applicant who visits shows more demonstrated interest than one who doesn't, and so forth. Many colleges factor in demonstrated interest to admissions and aid decisions, wanting to admit applicants who will enroll. The idea is to have better planning and to improve the yield, the percentage of admitted applicants who enroll.)  Here is just a sample that we have received information on, check your prospective school website for other options!

University of Pennsylvania

Exploring College Options is a special recruitment program sponsored by the undergraduate admissions offices of five of the country's leading universities: Duke UniversityGeorgetown UniversityHarvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Stanford University. During the Exploring College Options event, representatives from the five universities will conduct brief slide presentations about their institution and answer your questions about the sometimes-mystifying world of college admissions.  You will learn what distinguishes one fine university from another, what competitive colleges look for in the selection process, and what you can do to enhance your college application.

Visit dates will be posted for the Spring semester; no Fall dates are posted for the LA/OC area.
