Congratulations to Victor Ye for winning the Carson Scholarship!!!  This is a National Scholarship that awards students who excel academically and are dedicated to serving their communities.  Scholarship winners receive the honor of being named "Carson Scholars" and are awarded $1,000, an Olympic-sized medal, and a trophy for their school to celebrate their accomplishments.

Victor was asked to play the violin during the award ceremony at the banquet in honor of the 2018 West Coast Carson Scholarship winners.  He was fabulous and represented Glen A. Wilson first class style!  This summer he has also been invited to perform a solo for the Pope at Sistine Chapel and Pantheon in Italy!

It was truly an honor to nominate and celebrate in the success of Victor Ye!

Congratulations to Kalvin Chang, Eric Siu and Darien Tsai for winning 1st Place Overall at the Congressional APP Challenge for the app they created, Aftermath, (math tutoring)!!!  They will be traveling to Washington D.C. this summer.

The Congressional APP Challenge (CAC) is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code, through annual district-wide competitions hosted by Members of Congress for their district.  This year, Ed Royce’s Congressional District (CA-39), had the largest number of entries of any congressional district in the United States.

Participating students code original applications for the chance to be selected for recognition by their Member of Congress, win prizes, and have their work put on display in the Capitol Building in Washington, DC.  The district-wide competitions, now in their 3rd year, take place from July through early November.  The CAC is executed by the Congressional staff to each participating district and coordinated by the Congressional Internet Caucus and the non-governmental sponsor of the project, the Internet Education Foundation.

The mission of CAC is to inspire, include, and innovate efforts around STEM, coding and computer science education.
