Congratulations to Ms. Mabrie on her retirement!!  Ms. Mabrie served the students of Wilson for the past 25 years and while she will be truly missed for her caring and dedication, we wish her peace and relaxation as she moves on to her next adventure!

2021-2022 Guidance google classroom!

Staying informed and updated is always important!  In an effort to try and get out as much information as possible, counselors use Google Classroom in addition to Canvas notifications.  Signing up for your "Class of" Google Classroom helps allows you to receive announcements and updates about your specific grade level in one place.

The Guidance Department at Wilson High School strives to serve all students through their high school journey.  Counselors focus on four main areas during the course of the year:

 

Guidance Curriculum – Involves the delivery of the guidance curriculum to ALL students through group and classroom activities that my include classroom presentations, teaching guidance curriculum, hosting parent meetings and partnering with other agencies or schools to provide essential information for students.

Individual Planning – Involves activities to help students manage their education, personal, and career development.  Activities focus on assisting students to plan, monitor, and manage their present and future.

Responsive Services – Involves meeting the immediate needs and concerns of students and/or parents/guardians concerning their student. Counselors are available to assist students who are in need of personal support, counseling, consultation and referral.

System Support – Involves management activities that establish, maintain, and enhance the total guidance program.  This includes management of guidance services, community outreach, research and development, and staff support activities and services.
